A unique cycling experience in a small group, a Sea to Sea ride across Southern Italy, going through the enchanting regions of Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia!

An incredible cycling adventure from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea. We’ll ride through the entrancing regions of Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia.

We’ll be awestruck by some of the most spectacular villages and landscapes in Italy, riding from the west to the east coast pedalling through undiscovered Italy always accompanied by our professional guides on peaceful backroads.

We’ll start our ride in Maratea, and in 8 days, we’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the most iconic towns in South Italy: Palinuro, Maratea, Matera, Alberobello, Polignano and more.

Day by day

Day 1: Meeting at Naples airport and transfer to the hotel in Maratea

Welcome from the staff, presentation of the bike tour, welcome drink, and dinner.

Overnight in Maratea.

Day 2: From Maratea to Palinuro

  • Distance: 65 km40 mi
  • Elevation: 1380 m4855 ft

Today, we will start our amazing journey from the atmospheric town of Maratea. This legendary village is a magic place where the sea meets the land, immersed in history.

From here, we’ll cycle through the rolling hills of the spectacular Cilento National Park to the Basilicata region. With the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea on our left, we’ll visit many charming fishing villages where we’ll have a reviving “espresso” in a picturesque and ancient square.

Keep on riding; we’ll get to exclusive Palinuro, where our luxury hotel will be waiting for us and a delicious dinner will be the best way to finish our first cycling day.

Day 3: From Palinuro to Padula

  • Elevation: 1480 m5300 ft

It’s time to say goodbye to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Today, we’ll start our unforgettable ride toward the East Coast.

We’ll leave the enchanting Palinuro and we’ll start to deal with the first climbs, but no worries, these ascents are not too demanding and are always surrounded by a unique landscape.

We’ll be assisted by our van, always beside us and ready to provide any support that we may need. Padula is our final destination. It is a pleasant town famous for its beautiful Certosa di San Lorenzo, better known as Certosa di Padula, one of the largest Monasteries in Europe.

Day 4: From Padula to Castelmezzano

  • Distance: 81 km50 mi
  • Elevation: 2120 m6950 ft

Another great day is waiting for us. We’ll start climbing some gentle ascents. Thanks to this first part, we’ll reach the incredible mountain area also known as Dolomiti Lucane. We’ll ride on peaceful back roads, surrounded by isolated and traditional farms in a pristine environment.

Our final destination will be Castelmezzano, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is renowned for its stunning and unique landscape, a fairy-tale village perched on a hilltop.

Overnight in Castelmezzano.

Day 5: From Castelmezzano to Matera

  • Distance: 86 km54 mi
  • Elevation: 1200 m3940 ft

After an energizing breakfast, we are ready to deal with the longest stage of this cycling adventure.

We’ll start with a long descent in the middle of the Dolomiti Lucane, then we’ll take on the first ascent of the day, climbing through impressive forests and unspoilt countryside, to stop in one of the pretty villages for a cappuccino and later for a lunch of typical local food.

Magnificent Matera will be our final destination: one of the oldest cities in the world, where nature, history and culture unite. A place of stunning landscapes, unique architectural works, and views of incomparable charm, Matera has captivated many artists, including Carlo Levi and Giovanni Pascoli, and continues to enchant with its Sassi, a World Heritage Site.

Day 6: From Matera to Alberobello

  • Distance: 90 km56 mi
  • Elevation: 800 m2600 ft

Another epic day in this unique cycling tour. We’ll ride from Matera to Alberobello, entering the beautiful Puglia region along peaceful backroads surrounded by a new landscape made up of endless olive groves.

Alberobello, a village famous all over the world, will be our captivating final destination. Alberobello is a fairytale place, a little gem nestled in the Itria Valley between the Apulian provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto.

This is the town of the trulli, extraordinary testimonies of dry-stone construction with conical or pyramid-shaped roofs. Here, more than 1,500 trulli have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1996, a unique and spell-binding charm.

Overnight in Alberobello.

Day 7: Alberobello - Polignano a Mare- Alberobello

  • Elevation: 780 m2560 ft

Today is a special day, finally we’ll see the Adriatic Sea from one of the most beautiful seaside towns in Puglia: Polignano a Mare.

Nestled along the breathtaking coast of the Valle d’Itria, Polignano a Mare is perched dramatically atop a 20-meter-high limestone cliff. This enchanting Puglian town, with its roots stretching back to the 4th century BC, offers unique natural beauty, a wealth of history, and modern-day magic.

Lunch in its charming square is a highlight of our day. We’ll end our ride by cycling back to Alberobello.

Day 8: Departures

Breakfast and transfer to Bari Airport.

Yes, we provide your transfer from the airport/station on the arrival day and to the airport/station on the departure day.

You don’t need to be an athlete to take part in one of our tours. We offer different levels of difficulty, from the easy/medium tours in Tuscany, the Northern lakes Area, and Piedmont to the more demanding on the mountains. In any case, our van is constantly with the group to provide any kind of assistance.

In order to provide the best service and guarantee the best cycling vacation to our guests, we have chosen to organize tours only for small groups, a maximum of 7 people. So, in case of tiredness, bad weather, or others reason, a spot in the van is always guaranteed. Our team is made up of a bike guide and a driver, these guides are focused on the group, taking pictures, and providing assistance during the stage.

Our van is constantly with the group, providing any kind of assistance. Two guides will take care of the group and being in a small group, everyone will be assisted.

Yes, being a boutique Tour Operator, we are specialized in private and tailor-made tours. If you are a group of friends, a family, or a cycling club, write us your preferences and we’ll come up with the perfect tour for you.

We can provide different types of bikes, speaking about road bike tours we can rent:

  • entry-level carbon frame road bike;

“Medical Assistance Insurance” is included in all of our tours. We can’t provide Cancellation Insurance to extra Schengen clients, so we strongly suggest to our guests purchase Cancellation coverage.
