Arrival at Palermo airport and transfer to Castellammare del Golfo, a picturesque port city with a history dating back to ancient times when Castellammare was the port of the Elymian cities of Segesta and Erice. Bike delivery and tour briefing.
Welcome dinner in Castellamare del Golfo
From Castellammare, after a short climb, we head towards the wonderful Scopello, an ancient village locally called a baglio (from the Arabic bahal, meaning courtyard), dating back to the seventeenth century. Around its cobbled square, stand the few houses that lean against it.
Our next destination will be San Vito lo Capo, a wonderful small village also known as the Caribbean of Europe.
Transfer back to Castellamare del Golfo by van.

Left the fabulous Gulf of Castellammare, the first ride of this Western Sicily
The tour will take you a few kilometers from Scopello, allowing you to penetrate the Sicilian inland countryside, which is rich in olive trees and vineyards. After about 25 kilometers, interspersed with not-too-challenging slopes, you will reach the archaeological site of Segesta, an ancient city founded by the Elymians, more than 2500 years ago, where a touristic guide is waiting for us. From here, you will continue along secondary roads until you reach Trapani, known as the City of Salt.
Overnight in Trapani
Today we will have a different but equally exciting day. We will leave Trapani and pedal towards Erice, a beautiful medieval village perched on top of a mountain at 750 meters above sea level. We will tackle 11 kilometers of switchbacks that are never too challenging. This village will take your breath away, and after visiting it, we will reach the Trapani salt flats via secondary roads. From there, we will head back to our hotel in Marsala.
Overnight in Marsala
Today’s stage continues along the enchanting Tyrrhenian coastline, in Western Sicily, then gradually penetrates the typical countryside of this area, rich in vineyards and numerous bagli, ancient centers of agricultural activity. You finally arrive in Mazara del Vallo, home to Italy’s most important fishing fleet, at the mouth of the Màzaro river, which divides the city into two parts. The Arab influence is evident here and is so predominant that walking through the narrow streets of the Kasbah (Arab quarter), colors and scents will remind you of the nearby African coast.
Overnight in Marsala
Today’s stage will take us to Marsala and to the archaeological site of Selinunte.
The Selinunte Archaeological Park is one of the largest sites in the Mediterranean. The remains of the magnificent city, with its public and private buildings, reveal an advanced urban culture that defined the city’s areas through sophisticated planning, developed by the Greeks since the colony’s founding.
A tour guide will take us back in time for a one-of-a-kind experience. Transfer back to the hotel by van
